Attendance Zone Planning

“School District Strategies assisted SCUC ISD in a very complicated boundary re-zone process. Their information and presence at public forums were critical to our success. Brent Alexander was very attentive to our needs and always produced an extremely professional product for the district. I would highly recommend School District Strategies.”

Superintendent, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD

SDS works with district planners to create or modify attendance boundaries.  GIS software is used to geocode student locations and demographics by address.  Students can then be identified geographically according to specific characteristics including grade level, current campus, economically disadvantaged status, LEP/bilingual status, and participation in special programs.  In addition, the planning process incorporates new home construction data, future housing development locations, enrollment projections, and campus capacities.  As proposed changes are considered, the SDS system allows for immediate visualization of different scenarios.  SDS works with facility planners to maximize efficiency of existing schools and minimize the need for future changes in attendance zone boundaries.  SDS provides detailed, color maps, and aerial photos that reflect the changes in a district.
